About:
Seth Mitchell writes energetic and tuneful songs that reflect broad influences within folk, bluegrass, and Americana. Based in Maryland, he grew up in the Appalachian Mountains of western Pennsylvania in an old farmhouse filled with music, first picking up guitar at age 13.
After earning a music degree in theory and composition, Seth honed his songwriting voice while serving in the Air Force, performing across California, Hawaii, and Maryland. He became a versatile multi-instrumentalist, rotating through guitar, bass, and mandolin in various projects.
Seth is a dynamic participant in the Baltimore and Annapolis music scene, leading the Seth Mitchell Band while frequently performing as sideman and collaborator. His 2024 album Glen Burnie Man showcases original compositions that have earned recognition in regional songwriting competitions.
