Seth Mitchell
Seth Mitchell is a multi-faceted musician based in Maryland. He grew up in the Appalachian Mountains of western Pennsylvania in an old farmhouse filled with music. First picking up the guitar at age 13 he soon grew into a versatile multi-instrumental, rotating through guitar, bass, and mandolin slots in a local bluegrass band as a teenager. After earning a music degree in theory and composition, he honed his songwriting voice while serving in the Air Force and performing on the side in California, Hawaii, and Maryland.
Seth writes energetic and tuneful songs that reflect broad influences both within folk, bluegrass, and Americana, and from other genres. He is a dynamic participant in the Baltimore and Annapolis bluegrass scene where he leads the Seth Mitchell Band and frequently performs as sideman and collaborator for other artists and songwriters. Songs from his 2024 album of original music, Glen Burnie Man, received recognition in the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest and the Common Ground on the Hill Songwriting Contest.
