Seth Mitchell is a journeyman band leader and sideman in the Baltimore bluegrass and Americana scene. After spending his formative years in rural southwest Pennsylvania, studied music in college then spent six years in the US Air Force. He is proficient on a number of instruments but most commonly seen out and about singing lead or tenor with a guitar, upright bass, or mandolin in tow.

He’s been an musical compatriot for numerous other original acts, including Darlington, Charm City Cowgirl, Edgar Allen and the Poe Boys, Porch Setters Union, Dhevhan Keith, Ali Sky, City Boys, living legend and total badass Sean Tiwanak, Butter Side Down, and more. In 2023 he launched and began performing with the Seth Mitchell Band, bringing in longtime bluegrass collaborators to bring his original songs to life on stage.

In 2016 and 2017 he released two albums in a cramped, dark, poorly ventilated mausoleum of a home studio, The Forest and Wildflower. 2024’s Glen Burnie Man adds the drive of Baltimore bluegrass to Seth’s strong lyrical abilities.
